Simfolio
Privacy policy
Simfolio holds a list of add-ons you own and what you paid for them. That is personal data, and this page says exactly what happens to it.

Who is responsible
Simfolio is operated by Voltech Simulations, a French SASU registered with the Paris Trade and Companies Register under number 934 742 867, whose registered office is at 229 rue Saint-Honoré, 75001 Paris, France.
Voltech Simulations is the data controller for the personal data described below. For anything on this page, write to hello@voltechsim.com.
What we collect
Only what the service needs to work. There is no tracking beyond that.
- Your account
- Your email address. If you sign in with Google or Discord, we also receive the display name and avatar those services hand us - we do not ask them for anything else, and we never see your password.
- Your collection
- The products you mark as owned, wishlisted or set aside; the value you record for each one; where and when you bought it, if you enter it; and the plan, price and renewal date of the subscriptions you track.
- Your preferences
- Your display currency and the simulator you fly.
- Products you ask for
- When you add a product the catalogue does not have, we keep what you typed - its name, publisher, type and price - so it can be reviewed and added for everyone.
- Technical data
- Our hosting and database providers keep short-lived server logs containing IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. We measure how many people visit each page, using a tool that sets no cookies, stores no IP address, and cannot follow you from one site to another - only a count of page views, the country, and the page you came from. We use no advertising and no tracking cookies of any kind.
Why, and on what legal basis
- To run the service - keeping your collection, showing it back to you, signing you in. This is performance of the contract between us.
- To keep it working and safe - preventing abuse, diagnosing failures, improving the catalogue from the products people ask for. This is our legitimate interest in a service that functions.
- To answer you when you write to us. Also legitimate interest.
We do not sell your data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not profile you. Simfolio sends no marketing email - only the message that lets you sign in.
Who else handles it
We use a small number of providers, each of them under contract to process data only on our instructions.
- Supabase
- Database and sign-in. Your collection and your account live here, in a European region.
- Vercel
- Hosting and delivery of the site itself, and the page-view counts described above.
- Resend
- Sending the sign-in email. Link tracking is deliberately switched off, so nothing records whether or when you open it.
- Google and Discord
- Only if you choose to sign in with them. They tell us who you are; we tell them nothing about your collection.
Exchange rates come from a public service that receives no personal data - only the pair of currencies to convert.
Vercel and Resend are established in the United States. Transfers to them are covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Your data stays as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, or ask us to, everything tied to it is erased within 30 days, backups included.
One exception, and it is deliberate: a product you asked us to add and that we published stays in the shared catalogue - but detached from you. It becomes a catalogue entry like any other, with nothing that links it back to your account.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, have it erased, restrict or object to its use, and receive it in a portable format. Write to hello@voltechsim.com and we will answer within a month.
If our answer does not satisfy you, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority, at cnil.fr.
Cookies and local storage
Simfolio sets the cookies needed to keep you signed in, and nothing else. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Your browser also stores a little on its own: the collection you build before creating an account, your currency, and whether you have revealed the total value of your collection. That stays on your device. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Children
Simfolio is not intended for children under 15. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will say so on this page and update the date at the top. Simfolio is an independent, free service and may change; what we collect may grow, and when it does, this page will say so before it happens.
